What started out as an effort to use up scraps quickly became a very engaging designing process. It turned into a quilt so scrappy and mysterious; one glance was simply not enough! Traditional kaleidoscope blocks made with eclectic array of fabrics reflect the charm of African American and Southern Quilts. Interplay of different value and prints and placement of scraps give each block a personality of its own. By strategically changing the corner triangles in alternating blocks, a new pattern emerged. It took me back to the childhood memories of making kaleidoscope with few pieces of cardboard, broken glass bangles and lot of imagination.
